Frequently Asked Questions

How do I load my Linux DVD / usb stick?

There are many different ways to load a Live DVD / USB Linux Live drive so it's always difficult to provide specific instructions.

Please see some generic steps below.

Booting from the Live DVD / USB:

Insert the bootable DVD or USB drive into the computer.

Restart your computer.

Before windows loads, look for a message saying press [XXX] to change boot order and then look for a boot device called DVD Drive / 'Kingston ...' on the boot screen. This will start loading your Linux DVD / USB drive.

If there is no message then enter the BIOS/UEFI setup: This usually involves pressing a key like F2, F12, Esc, or Del immediately after turning on the computer (the specific key is often shown briefly on the screen during startup).

Change the boot order:

In the BIOS/UEFI setup, navigate to the boot menu area and set the CD/DVD drive or USB drive as the first boot device.

Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI setup. The computer should automatically boot from the USB drive / DVD Drive and show a list of Linux operating systems.
